Whilst there are no official screenshots or video available just yet, it shouldn’t be too long before we receive more information about how the latest remake is going. It has featured in “greatest games of all time” lists and stands among the best games for the Saturn. When Panzer Dragoon II Zwei was released for the Sega Saturn in 1996 it was hailed as a big improvement over the original, earning praise for its graphics and gameplay. The first two titles in the series are on-rail shooters, riding a flying dragon through various locations battling enemies and bosses. It is particularly important the upcoming remake does well to increase the chances of a Panzer Dragoon Saga port/remake at some point in the future. While the remake of the first one released just last year, it received lukewarm reviews so hopefully things turn around for this one. Back in 2019, remakes of the first two Panzer Dragoon titles were announced. I want to support Sega, not some 3rd party I don’t care about.Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake will launch in 2021 according to publisher Forever Entertainment and developer Megapixel Studio. The only remakes, remasters or sequels I’ll buy is those that Sega (or a company they own, like Atlus) is directly involved in development of.

Same with the Panzer Dragoon remake, there’s no Sega logo or even mention of Sega ANYWHERE on the Steam page. There’s no Sega branding anywhere on the box or the disc, just a ©Sega in small print since I guess they own the rights to the franchise. I bought SOR4 second hand for 2 dollars and that was it. All they’re doing is making Sega realize it’s cheaper to just hand out their legendary IPs to the studio that’ll make a new game the cheapest and call it done instead of developing them in-house. I see a lot of Sega fans buying multiple copies thinking they’re helping Sega see that people want these games.

Many people don’t realize this but they’re not actually Sega games. Seeing how Sega basically hands out the permissions to their IPs to 3rd party no-name studios now it’s not unlikely that we’ll get a new installmentĪs a fan I can’t justify supporting such games.
